Paddy’s previous responsibilities include the Chair of Eurasia Drilling Company Limited (EDCL.LI) the largest drilling and work-over company in Eurasia. He is also a former non-executive director of SOMA Oil & Gas, a private exploration play in deepwater offshore Somalia and OJSC Polyus Gold (OPYGY) the largest Russian gold mining company by market share.
Paddy has over thirty years of experience in corporate communications and resource extraction in the MENA and FSU regions. He is presently non-executive director of FTSE100 listed NMC Healthcare PLC (NMC.L).1
George Lucan is an experienced finance professional with over thirty years’ behind him in debt and equity markets. After graduating from Cambridge University, he began his career at Dresdner Kleinwort Benson where he spent 10 years, mainly within the Structured Finance team, and continued in alternative fund management. He brings, in addition, private equity experience in the fields of energy and alternative energy.
Carlos has been part of the Angus team since 2013 and has seen the company’s transition from private to public. Prior to his appointment as Finance Director he was the Chief Financial Officer of the group. He has over 11 years commercial experience working in the Mining and Oil & Gas industry.
Carlos has held accounting and finance roles at both corporate and project level and also covering corporate governance and compliance. He has been involved in the identification and successful application of exploration targets, mergers and acquisitions and running development and production programs.
Andrew has over 40 years’ experience in all technical aspects of oil and gas, exploration and production. After 25 years in petroleum and reservoir engineering for British Gas he became an independent consultant specialising in Russia, the FSU and Eastern Europe and also provided specialist reserves determination skills to Gaffney Cline and Associates.
As General Manager of various Russian joint ventures Andrew has had experience of running small oil companies. He brings a wide range of experience including geology, petroleum engineering, field operations of all types, drilling, reservoir operations and reserves determination. Andrew graduated in Geology from London University and is a Fellow of the Geological Society and member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
Director of UK Operations (Non-Board)
Mike began his career with BP at Eakring and was involved in the development and appraisal of many wells in Lincolnshire and beyond including the original successful exploration wells into the Portland at Brockham.
Following time with Candecca Resources, Mike was employed by ROC Oil to oversee the Saltfleetby Gas Field (the “Field”) and he remained with Wingas UK Storage Ltd on its acquisition of that Field. Mike has extensive experience in field management and engaging with all regulators.
Cameron Buchanan is a former Scottish politician, who served as a Scottish Conservative Party Member of the Scottish Parliament for the Lothian region from 2013 to 2016. After a career in the Scottish textile industry he also served as vice-chairman of the Scottish Conservatives. Buchanan was educated at St Edward’s School & Sorbonne University.
